Black Swan 3000 for cushion gum

Automatic extruder machine developed for the tyre retreading industry and designed to fit the extruded cushion gum in strips on the tyre casings to be retreaded.

The machine is able to carry out the following operations:

  1. inflation of the tyre on the hydraulically expanded mandrel;
  2. automatic detection of the buffed profile before the application of the cushion gum;
  3. application of the cushion gum in strips with the consequent skiving filling (up to a maximum hole size 20x2mm);
  4. tyre deflation at end of cycle.

The above operations don’t need the presence of the operator.

The only functions carried out by the operator are:

  • loading and unloading of the tyre on the mandrel;
  • selection of the needed working program of the cycle.

The control interface between machine and operator is handled through a mobile and easy to use touch screen.

The Black Swan, when compared to the traditional application of the calendered cushion gum, presents the following advantages:

  • laser detection of the real buffed profile in order to do the needed compensation when applying the cushion gum;
  • possibility of asymmetric application (i.e. on the shoulders for bus tyres);
  • no need of the cement solution within the process = saving of materials and of manpower;
  • no need to fill the skiving separately = saving of manpower (until a maximum size of 20x2 mm);
  • no need of the cushion gum strips application on the shoulders separately = saving of manpower;
  • no need of the cushion gum cutting machine to cut to size the rolls;
  • possible cost saving because of pre-cut cushion gum price vs calendered cushion gum.

 

The Black Swan, when compared to the traditional application of the extruded cushion gum, presents the following advantages:

  • higher production flexibility because it permits to change material/compound in short time and with a very small waste of material (100g);
  • application of material with different thickness on selected transversal sections of the tyre;
  • saving of material because of the high precision during application;
  • possibility of processing the new generation of Super Wide Single tyres like the 445 and 495.
